Mail stuck in Outbox ever since iOS 13.4.1 update

My phone automatically updated to 13.4.1 a couple days and ago and ever since then, emails in Mail (gmail accounts ) are getting stuck in the Outbox. Anyone else having this problem?

I have tried deleting and re-adding accounts and this did not resolve the problem.

The icon shows there are new unread messages. Launch the app and wait 10 seconds before they are displayed. Count to 10 now................That is an eternity for an email list refresh. If deleting and re-adding the gmail account doesn't fix it then contact gmail or look at their support site.
