I have an iPhone XR and just downloaded iTunes yesterday and now all my music is gone. This is all my music that I've had for more than 30 years. I understand that if it is not on iTunes, that it gets erased.
Well, I want my music back. I'm horrified and seriously upset. I had no idea this would happen. How do I get all my music back?

I just tried to find some music in iTunes on my Mac and my iPhone - any music I had that I had imported is gone - including my father's voice (he died in 1986). Where is my music? How do I get it back? All my music was in iTunes
Same thing happened to me. I called in to Apple support and the connected to my computer remotely and couldn't find or recover any of my music - 20 years worth of memories and music - gone! Sorry to tell you this. From a couple thousand songs, I was left with maybe 30 songs.
My husband a computer wizard, was able to find a file on my computer that contained all my music still and I was able to import it back into iTunes. I will be backing this file up to make sure it doesn't get totally lost.
