MacBook Pro black screen issue

My MacBook shows black screen when turned on. I have done SMC & PRAM reset but still no change. Although, my MacBook works well with external display. Any advise on how to resolve this issue.

It seems the built-in Display Assembly is defective and needs to be repaired. If Apple Stores or AASPs are not open in your region, then click on the "Contact Support" link at the top right of this page to see your options. In some regions it may be possible to mail the laptop to Apple for the repair.


Also see if you qualify for this free Apple backlight repair program:

FYI, here is a list of all the current publicly acknowledge free repair programs for various Apple products (some have multiple programs):
