I got an email saying that someone , somwhere on some different device had purchased Pokémon Go from my Apple ID. The charge was $99.99. It hasn’t been charged to my debit card. Is this a real email or a scam?

It is most likely a scam. If the only indication of the charges is from an email or text, be aware that it may be a phishing attempt to get you to log in to a site that appears to be Apple and divulge your password or credit card information.
