Removing old phone from backup

I have two iPhones. Both have same account. My iCloud storage is getting full and I need to make space. If I delete my old phone backup on new phone, what will happen? Will it delete anything on my old phone? What will it do to my new phone? Please give me as much information as possible. Thank you in advance!!!!
