After updating to Catalina on my Mac mini 2018, whenever I start up Im getting two apple boot screens. On the second boot screen its exactly like the first except the apple and loading bar is bigger. Then I get a quick solid grey screen for a quick second before finally getting to the login screen. I've tried using disk utility and safe boot but it hasn't help.

Try reinstalling the Combo update macOS 10.15.4 https://support.apple.com/kb/DL2037?locale=en_US
on top of your existing macOS 10.15.4
If you have firevault turned on you expect to have to get by this preboot before you get to your user login screen.

Thanks for the reply but unfortunately this didn't work for me ☹️. Maybe I should just wait for the next update or chat with tech support. I don't have FileVault enabled though so Im not sure what's gone wrong
