new iPad Pro 11 - 2020!

Hello everyone!

Brand new iPad is in the delivery truck now headed to my house. Super excited. Wife and i got the 128g model to save a few dollars. Is there a way to set up the iPad with one of our current apple IDs, and not have everything automatically download?

Goal is to keep the iPad for the apps we would use on it, and some for the kids, but we don't want to upload our entire phone or MacBook to the iPad.

Appreciate any and all help!

If you set it up as a new device and don’t restore it from a backup as well as ensure that the ‘automatic downloads’ option under ‘iTunes & AppStore’ is unchecked for Apps you should not see any apps that you have on other devices show up on the iPad.
