Anyone know why my watch only counts exercise I do outside but when I do a walk on my treadmill it only counts a minute worth of exercise? Thanks

I’m doing a 24 day challenge so exercising everyday but I have an old calf injury that’s flared up so currently having to walk on the odd days. On them days I go into the workout app on the watch and click on indoor walk but it only counts 1-3 minutes of it and I’ve been on there 40 minutes

Do you use the workout app that is preinstalled with the watch? And if so, what exercise option do you use when you’re on the treadmill?
When you do an indoor walk the accelerometer in the watch measures your distance,when you're outside walking the GPS measures your distance.Are you doing "exercise" or a "workout".
I have it on indoor walk which I activate through the watch itself. I normally do the hit training but an old calf injury has flared up so I’m walking at the moment
