VPN

Is it necessary for extra security to have a VPN installed on a iPhone. I had one but it was interfering with some of my apps

No.


Perhaps if your iPhone is owned by an employer or other institution, they would want VPN for extra security. But an individual should not need it.

Really? Are you looking for a "yes" or "no" answer? Are you thinking such an answer would satisfy each and every scenario that one can construct? Basically are you seeking an answer of the form "VPN is always required" or "VPN is never required"? That will not happen.
