MacOS Catalina update stuck at "Downloading new updates”

The upgrade stops moving after 8.23/8.23 GBs are downloaded. I’ve tried upgrading in safe mode and It didn’t work. Hope someone can help!

Hmmm. All you can do is quit the System Preferences.


Look in your Applications folder and see if it is there "Install macOS Catalin.app"


if it is there you can launch by clicking it open.


If not there all you can do is try at a later date if the server is having issues... then try again.



The Apple servers were having some issues and may not be resolved for everyone...
