iCloud backup delete

I recently upgraded from iPhone SE to iPhone 7 and I can’t seem to delete the iCloud backup for my old iPhone and it is taking up a lot of space and I am unable to backup my current iPhone because of this. Please help.

You can delete old backups of your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch in Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Storage > Backups. For more, see Manage your iCloud storage.

I’ve tried this but it comes up with a message which says cannot delete at this time
