Help restoring my personal voicemail greeting

Why can’t I save my personal greeting I recorded awhile ago? I press play and it plays the greeting I had it set to. Now it won’t let me save the greeting I recorded before and only allows me to use the default. I want to keep the greeting I’ve had for years and do not want to record a new one. Any ideas?
