My mac won't let me download iMovie

so I've been trying to download iMovie on my mac but a bow pops up saying "iMovie can't be installed on "Macintosh HD 2" because OS X version 10.14.6 or later is required"

MacBook Air 13", OS X 10.10

If possible, update your operating system to Mojave 10.14.6. Then you can download current iMovie 10. Otherwise you can try the procedure below.


If you had purchased iMovie 10 sometime in the past then you can update or redownload it to the highest version that you Mac OS will run.


To update/redownload iMovie 10, drag your iMovie 10 app from the Applications folder into the trash, but do not empty the trash. (You can skip that step if you had iMovie 10 on your computer before, but deleted it.) Sign in to the app

store and open your purchases folder by clicking on your name at the bottom of the app store side bar. You will see your purchases displayed, including iMovie10. Redownload/update iMovie from there. If not successful, drag your present

iMovie app out of the trash (if you moved it there) and return it to the Applications folder.
