Resetting 6s iphone without "resetting" my new iphone 8

Hello, How do I reset my old iphone 6s without affecting my new iphone 8. As I'm selling my iphone 6s, I'm currently deleted items, but I've now realised the same items are now "deleted" from my new iphone 8. Any help appreciated. Thank you, Mark

Great question and you are right that if you begin deleting items on your iPhone 6s that are synced through iCloud then you will also see them being deleted on your iPhone 8 because they are signed to the same account.
