I have an old ipad that was disabled. I restored the ipad. Now it is asking me to enter user id and password. The id doesn't exist anymore. I even checked on apple id support. Is there a way to bypass this?

No, that is activation lock. You will need that Apple ID and password to open it. Turn off Activation Lock - Apple Support
