I Cannot Sync With iTunes

I have an iPod classic running version 2.0.4.

I cannot sync it and the iDevice icon is not there!

I have a CLASSIC iPOD 160GB, the iTunes "app" is not letting me SYNC. Try another cable. Check for fluff in the docking port.
