I understand that each person in the family needs a separate Apple ID. Do they share the same log in/account on iTunes, or do they need separate iTunes accounts and then use family Sharing to connect as a family?

When Family Sharing is set up, normally, you use the same ID for iTunes that you use everywhere else (ie iCloud, Messages). If everyone uses the same Apple ID for iTunes, that will work, but isn't necessary when Family Sharing is set up.
Each will use their own Apple ID login.
Should the Apple ID and iTunes account be the same? I think all of mine was setup wrong years ago.
