Child’s Screen Time doesn’t sync to parents device

Until recently I’ve been able to view my children’s screen time on my own phone. Now that isn’t true. The only way to manage their screen time is to use their actual device. Thoughts and suggestions?

I have exactly the same problem and I've spent an hour online with Apple Support with no success at all. It seems to be a bug.

Hey there AmericanSisu,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. I understand you’re not able to view your children’s Screen Time usage from your device any longer. I’ll be happy to help with this.

If this feature recently stopped, make sure all devices are up to date:

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

How to update the software on your Mac

If they are up to date, restart all devices:

Restart your iPhone

How to turn your Mac on or off

If the issue continues after that, turn off Screen Time on their devices, restart, and turn it back on. This will cause current data to be lost but may resolve this issue:

Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Regards.

Hi AmericanSisu,

Thanks for going through those steps. If the issue is still not resolved, try toggling the Ask to Buy feature off and then back on using your device:

Request and make purchases with Ask to Buy

If that doesn’t help, see if you can change the name of your children’s devices from your iPhone. If you have issues with this, try disabling the Share Across Devices feature on all devices.

If any of these steps work, then try turning off Screen Time for their devices once more, restart and turn back on.

I hope this helps.

I’ve done all of that and still no syncing. Turning off screen time for my child’s device doesn’t work either. I can’t turn it off on their device and can only do this from one of mine, but since this service isn’t syncing I can’t turn it off. This isn’t specific to my device as I’ve tried from 2 iPads and my wife’s iPhone too. Both of my kids’ devices have this issue. Factory reset doesn’t work either as that has been tried.
