I can’t use my Apple ID balance

Every time I try to make a purchase, I have to verify credit card information. I want to use my Apple ID balance, $50. Is this because i’m in a family sharing group? What can i do to fix this

You need to verify the credit card information and then when you make a purchase, the purchase price plus applicable taxes should be withdrawn from your balance. You have to verify the credit card in case the purchase price exceeds your account balance.

See what Eric said above. And note that before you can add funds to your Apple ID, you must have a valid payment method on file. Learn about the payment methods that you can use with your Apple ID. See how to Add funds to your Apple ID https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208687  Note that "after you authorize the payment, the funds ... [are credited] to your Apple ID. Then, you can use the credit to make purchases from the App Store or iTunes store. Need more help? Contact Apple support for help here: Get started
