I am trying to install Catalina and I cannot select the disk to install it on as I get this error message:
So you cannot select the disk.
I do not understand as my Time Machine backups are on my time machine not my hard drive?

Check your Macintosh HD for any folders called Backups.backupdb, and put them in the Trash, empty the Trash, also look for local snapshots, and delete them too.
