Insert latex equation in-line with text in a table in Keynote 10.0

I'm unable to insert a Latex equation in a table in Keynote 10.0.

Following instructions from https://support.apple.com/en-nz/guide/keynote/tan72a69d01f/mac: Open a new blank slide, include a table, click in a cell of the table, Choose Insert > Equation (from the Insert menu at the top of your screen), type a standard latex equation, click insert.

Result, the equation comes as a floating object.

The exact same procedure works in Pages, but when I create a table in Pages with latex equations properly inserted and copy the table to Keynote, the equations disappear.

Is this a bug in Keynote 10.0?

There is nothing in that linked article that offers a glimmer of hope that Keynote 10 will accept equations in its table cells, and in practice, eschews all efforts at doing so. Pages 10 does permit the insertion of equations into selected cells of a table. Numbers 10 rejects all equation insertion, and places the equation as a foreground, floating object over the spreadsheet.

Copying and pasting a Pages 10 table into Keynote 10 purges the equation from the table.

I question whether this is a bug, or a deliberate attempt by the Keynote product team to prevent tabular equations. At least they are consistent with direct, or pasted table equation suppression. You can provide feedback to the Keynote product team from the Keynote application menu.
