macbook pro 16 inch battery dead within 1hr 30mins after charging. No chrome usage. cycle count is normal. Apps are already updated.

Leave it on the mains whenever it is convenient—battery only when necessary for portability.

If on the main 100% of the time—maybe once a month use on battery down to 50-60% say for a little exercise.

That's it— use it as you see fit.
