photos on Mac crashes
Every time I try to view a memory video, the app crashes... it starts to build and then quits...

Which version of Catalina do you have installed? Did you already update to macOS 10.15.4?
Do you still have older media files (videos, photos) in your Photos Library, that may no longer be compatible with the new version Photos 5.0? Check the videos, that you imported several years ago, if they still can be played, also the older image files, that are no JPEGs. After the upgrade to Catalina, some older codecs have been deprecated.
Thank you for your response! I have Catalina 10.15.4.... I have since been able to reboot and the problem seems to have cleared up....
Oops! it seems I spoke too soon! I find that my older photos form a memories video, more easily that my current ones
