Freeing up space by deleting videos..but it reappears

I'm trying to free up space on my iphone X. When I delete a video and open up photos, the video reappears. Why? and how can I free up space?

I see you are trying to delete a video to save space on an iPhone.


Delete photos on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support


When a photo or video is deleted, it actually goes to an album called Recently Deleted where it will stay for 30 days. That way, if you accidentally delete something, you can retrieve it for up to 30 days. In order to reclaim the space immediately, you would need to delete the video from the Recently Deleted album.
