Imovie Export

My IMovie won't allow me to export any files, or share them to my theater. Every time I try to do so I get a message like "Theater- my IMovie has failed" or "Exporting my Movie has failed" and gives me the link "com.apple.Compressor.CompressorKit.ErrorDomain error -1." when I click on details. I've cleared up 30g of data on my computer by deleting files in case that was the source of the problem but it hasn't made a difference and this happens to every video so I don't think this issue is due to the file being corrupt.

Try upgrading or doing a fresh install of your OS, plus an updating of your iMovie app. That worked for one recent poster, who upgraded to Mojave and the updated to iMovie 10.1.14. Try just updating iMovie first.

The CompressorKit error has been around for years. Lately there has been a rise in CompressorKit error reports on this forum. No universal fix has been found although booting up in Safe Mode has worked for some.

Here’s a link to a post that pretty much describes where we are with this problem.
