When you first manually save a Pages document, it probably will default to iCloud Drive, or the last folder location that you saved a previous Pages document. This first save is crucial as it commences autosave.

What happens if you launch Pages, and from the File menu, you choose Open Recent > and the name of the document you cannot find? If it says it cannot find the file then one of these possibilities exist:

  1. Deleted the file. Look in your Trash, any mounted storage at the time you saved it, or retrieve from a recent Time Machine backup.
  2. Moved the the file, but where? Launch Spotlight, and enter: kind:Pages AND modified:03/24/2020.
  3. Never really saved the file and it no longer exists.

Good luck.
