deleting email from Mac and devices simultaneously.

emails that I delete on my Mac still show on my iPhone and iPad. How can I get them to delete simultaneously? This is a recent issue; it used to work this way.

POP is the old protocol and you have to go out of your way to set up POP server

Mail today the default is IMAP— this sync all device to the server. Mail remain on the server.

SMTP is for sending mail.

Hi Bob,

Thank you. I checked and I am attaching photos of the accounts. Sorry I am not very proficient. I discovered that Aol is IMAP but Gmail, and Yahoo appear not to be? Yet I have the problem with all 3. And even though iCloud says SMTP, I have no problem with that either.
