desk top saves to icloud I want it to stop

How do I get my desktop and documents to stop saving to the icloud from my macbook pro

MacBook Pro 15", macOS 10.13

Apparently you are using Desktop and Documents on iCloud Drive: Add your Desktop and Documents files to iCloud Drive - Apple Support. That Support Article explains how to Turn off Desktop and Documents.
