Bookmarks disappeared

MY bookmarks disappeared on my MacBookPro 13' Retina Early 2015. The Favorites are all there, but the Bookmarks are gone. Where did they go and how might I retrieve them?

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.14

Restore Bookmarks from iCloud.

If you have a Time Machine backup, go to a backup when the Bookmarks were there, and then copy/paste the below into the search box. Restore the file.

~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist
