Broken after ios 13 update

Hi,

TIA

I have an iphone 6S and today I decided to update it to ios13 (it was previously all the way back on an ios10 system)

And now it is stuck on the apple logo restart screen and it keeps alternating between black screen and the white with apple logo screen. Occasionally the "put in your password" screen pops up but it won't let me type in my passcode and then goes back to the restart screen.

I have tried manually restarting it and that didn't change anything. And then I tried to connect it to my laptop to see if I could update or restore it on the computer, but the phone won't show up on my computer, it isn't even recognizing the connection to the laptop.

How do I fix it! What can I do? Is it totally broken?
