Apple TV+ subscription

I've just subscribed to the 1 Year free Apple TV+ Subscription but the app still asks to pay for renting or buying a movie. Is that true that inspite of getting the 1 Year free subscription one still has to pay for watching movies on it?

The Apple TV app gives access to:

iTunes Store movies and TV shows of buy or rent;
Apple TV+ Channel for Apple TV+ subscribers;
other premium channels for use in the Apple TV app, each with their own subscription;
linking to separate 3rd party apps for apps that support the Apple TV app, on certain Apple devices.

The Apple TV+ subscription does not include free access to the iTunes Store movie catalog, even though both are accessed through the same app.

The Apple TV+ channel has its own Apple TV+ content.

For the most part, yes. Only Apple-original content is covered by the subscription.
