yesterday I received a notification telling me I got a virus on my calendar. I looked into my calendar app and events I haven’t even made popped up. I get random notifications throughout the day about protecting my phone from viruses. (I haven’t hit any of the events or notifications.) Any advice on how to fix this?

You were probably fooled into adding a spammer’s calendar into your list of calendars.
Remove it.
Settings > Passwords & Accounts > Accounts > Find and remove the pesky spammer’s calendar
