Unable to reinstall Mac os

Well I have an older Mac Pro late 2013 model number a1502. My wife gave it to me and I was trying to clean it so I could put all my apps and data and I keep getting the same problem. I ran disk Utility and erased as Apple says and reformatted the drive. I get to the step to reinstall Mac iOS Sierra and I click it and click continue and install and it starts but when it gets to almost finishing installation it stops!? What do I do now???

Sierra is going way back.

Boot into Recovery (Command R) and from the dropdown menu: Utilities>  Disk Utility> run the First Aid on your Macintosh HD (and the "Macintosh HD-Data" volume as well if Catalina) If errors are found and repaired, run again until no errors reported.
