find volume control on tv 3rd generation

Apple TV (3rd generation)’s volume is controlled through your connected speakers/TV. You cannot control the volume directly on Apple TV (3rd generation).

As above, the Apple TV itself does not have volume control and that is dependent on the source (TV, receiver, soundbar). The remote would control volume using IR for most things, and CEC if using a compatible receiver.

It is worth mentioning that Apple TV (3rd generation) was 1 generation prior to Apple TV supporting CEC.

Ah yes, I must have missed that it was a 3rd gen. Thanks for pointing that out.
