Music on iPhone not syncing with iTunes

When I plug my iPhone into my MacBook, iTunes used to be able to detect it and I will click on the phone icon to add/remove music and sync. Now, nothing happens. iTunes does not display the icon, nothing is syncing. The USB port detects my iPhone is plugged in but there is no communication between the Music app on my iPhone and iTunes. This happened ever since the previous iOS 13.3 update. The OS on my Mac and phone are both up to date. Anyone know what's wrong and any solutions?
