Mac vs PC File organization - How to VIEW FILE TREE?

Hi Apple People,


My first 2 laptops were PC’s & I am now considering a MAC.


However, one thing that DRIVES ME CRAZY when using a friend’s Mac is that I can’t seem to see where files are with out using the search field which then just shows the the individual file without showing what folder it’s in.


How do I see the file tree to see where files in files are?

You won't find the same tree layout view in the macOS Finder. Yes there is a layout which you can "see" where you are, but I personally find it annoying. I just put up with the limited list view. To get the same behavior as Windows File Explorer you will need a third party app. This article shows the different options for viewing files & folders in the Finder:
