I cannot get the app to print labels with first name and then last name order. I have changed how I sort and view contacts. Still keeps printing last name first. Good grief. Any solutions? ; Mac os mojave 10.14.6

Is your Contacts general preference pane set like this?
If it is and still not working boot into Safe Mode (Use Safe Mode to isolate issues with your Mac) and try from there. Then reboot normally and test again.
NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing some system cache cleaning, volume verifying and directory repairing.
