time on screenshots wrong.

I have my date and time correct, time zone correct, set date and time automatically checked, and still screenshots show the wrong time. why? thanks.

Try a reset of the NVRAM/PRAM:

Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac - Apple Support


Startup you Mac in safe mode to reset caches and do general housekeeping:

Thanks, but neither of these worked. Every time I take a screenshot, I get some random time stamp. I can take a shot and get 2:20 am, take another shot directly after and get 4:40 am. Can't seem to figure out what is going on. It isn't an urgent issue, as I can change the name on the file that shows the time stamp, but it's just bizarre. I like things to make sense; this makes no sense.
