Can iMovie filters be adjusted/customised?
Can the filters be modified or have you just got to use the effect as it is?

The filters themselves do not have adjustment features. However, you can modify them to some extent by adjusting color, brightness, and tint from the color toolbar icon (the one that looks like a color palete) in the tool bar at the upper right hand side of your screen.
