Upgrade from Yosemite to El Capitan

I followed the instructions on https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT206886, i. e. I downloaded the file http://updates-http.cdn-apple.com/2019/cert/061-41424-20191024-218af9ec-cf50-4516-9011-228c78eda3d2/InstallMacOSX.dmg, unpacked it and clicked for execution. Everything went fine, without any warnings. I rebooted my Mac but it still is Yosemite 10.10.5.

What is wrong?!

Found the solution already -- I did not notice that I have to execute the copy in Applications!
