I'm a bit confused, maybe reading the wrong sites. The Apple TV has various hard drive sizes, but you can't record TV, and you can't store videos, though you can stream videos stored on another device or from a steaming service. What is the hard drive for?

Apple TV is offered in two configurations, 32 GB and 64 GB. Apple does not offer an Apple TV configuration with 1 TB of internal storage. Apple TV’s larger configuration is useful for downloading games from the App Store. With Apple Arcade some game’s size are nearly 3-5 GB each. This being said, I only have a 32 GB Apple TV with several games installed and I don’t often run out of disk space.
