Is it true you can replace a broken charger for free?

Hi, i heard that you can take back the broken charger and replace it with a new one for free. Is that true?

If the phone is still within warranty and the problem with the charger is something covered by warranty, yes, it will be replaced at no charge.

If the charger is out of warranty or damaged, you'll have to pay for a new one.
