Sony video files to iPad

When I use an SD card reader to import files from my Sony a6400 to my iPad Pro, only the photos show on the import page in Photos. I’ve discovered that if I use the Files app, after digging through folders, I can find the video files and import them to my photos from there. However, although all my video files are recorded using the same exact settings, only some of them are playable, while others just show up as a file with no thumbnail or playable video. I can still see the files on my camera, but they just show up as large files (multiple GBs) that, as far as I can tell, contain no usable data.

So if I record 6 videos, about 4 of them I can import without issue, but what can I do about the others? What’s going on?

Thanks.

The files are accessible through the files app, no need for luma fusion, although I do use it to edit my videos.

Anyway, through experimentation, I’ve found that the magic number for a Sony 4K video file to be able to be read on the iPad is about 5GB. Any files I have that are over that can’t be seen. This equates to about 6.5 minutes or so of 4K. Unless there is a loophole, the solution will have to be shorter videos for now.
