retrieving Photos from my older IMAC

I have a new MAC laptop. How can I retrieve the photos from my old iMac?

Just copy the Photos Library over. If you were using iPhoto, copy to iPhoto Library over, launch Photos and select the iPhoto Library from that dialog. Photos will create a new Photos Library from your iPhoto Media.
