I received an automated call indicating that my iCloud has been breached. Unsure if this was spam or from Apple legitimately

It is a scam. Apple doesn't make unsolicited phone calls. Also see: Avoid phishing emails, fake 'virus' alerts, phony support calls, and other scams - Apple Support
