I am trying to install a new Os to my macbook pro 2012 I used the starting internet recovery and lead me to one page where I can install Os maverick but when I try to install maverick it is not installing it coming a message( time out)

I would like to know how to install OS from flash drive as my macbook HD is empty( erased)

You can re-install from

Recovery: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204904

If you have a bootable USB installer yes, you can re-install just hold the option key on boot.
