If that will not work, then update the device using iTunes and the computer.
Yes, you can use your husband's computer, and it will only sync his stuff if it is set to do that and you agree to it. Make sure that you have a current backup of your device. I'm guessing that you use iCloud backup. After you update the device, then you will need to restore to your iCloud backup.
