IOS 13.3 IPhone 7. When I ask Siri to send a text, the screen shows the correct name, but then brings up another person with the same last name, but not the person I asked for. This seems to work on and off. It is a problem when I am driving and when I am out of my vehicle.
Ok seems like I have had success. Thanks to BreeZee_17. After the initial trial, I decided to give it one more go today. Things seem to be back to normal. Holding my breath. We are hands free here and Siri texting while under way is important to me. Thanks to everyone for the help/guidance.

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today with sending text messages through Siri. It sounds like another contact comes up instead of the one you have requested.
Try removing both contacts. Then Restart your iPhone. Add the two contacts back and test with Siri again.

BreeZee_17 it seemed like a good idea but it didn’t work. To clarify (which I didn’t previously) I have two contacts with the same last name, but different first names. When I ask Siri to text #1 it appears correctly on the screen, but then asks me what number to text to for #2. Siri seems determined to text the wrong person.

Do you have any other Siri devices that you can test this issue with?
Have you tried toggling Siri off and back on in Settings?
If that doesn't resolve the issue, please contact Apple Support.
