Airpods Battery Level Dropping to 99%

my airpods immediately drop to 99% after taking them out of the case even though they display 100% when they’re still charging. is this something i should worry about? how can i help them keep a 100% charge for a little longer?

when i posted this i only had my airpods for 2 days seeing as how i just recently bought them. in addition, sometimes one airpod will have a charge that’s less than 10 percent or more than the other (for ex: left airpod: 67% - right airpod: 78%) even though i use both at the same time for the same duration. is this something i still shouldn’t worry about or should i get them replaced?

Hi mikaela11803.

Start by making sure that the microphone setting on the AirPods is not set to Always Left because that can explain such a big difference.

Adjust the settings of your AirPods - Apple Support

After checking the settings, try resetting the AirPods.

Reset your AirPods - Apple Support

If you take both of those steps and the AirPods are still discharging at such an uneven rate and if you purchased them via Apple.com or at an Apple Store and are within the 14-day return period, you may want to do that. If you're beyond that period or purchased them via another avenue, then this is a warranty issue. You'll find a link to Apple Support in the second article linked above for setting up warranty replacement.

Cheers.
