A friend upgraded her Macbook Pro to Catalina 2 days back and since then internet is not working at all. Everything was OK till the moment the upgrade was initiated. Any pointers on where to troubleshoot / fix would be really helpful.

Please double check that you are wirelessly connected to the router you expect. I know that sounds obvious, but humour me.

We need a better definition of "internet is not working" because the internet is working.
How does the Mac connect to the outside world, wireless, cable, what?
Is the device that connects to the outside world switched on? Can anything else connect to the outside world through it?
its on Wireless connection. I have not tested with a wired connection yet. Wireless status is showing connected but unable to browse. Other devices from the same access point at home are working fine.
